| Option | Aviya rating | Manufacturer positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Plush | 3.5/10 | More cushioning; side-sleeper oriented |
| Luxury Firm | 5.5/10 | Multi-position; Aviya's most popular option |
| Firm | 8.5/10 | Back/stomach and larger-body positioning |
Plush
Plush is the clearest choice when you already know you dislike sleeping on a firm surface. Side sleepers often need more cushioning at the shoulders and hips, but body weight still matters: a very light sleeper and a much heavier sleeper can experience the same mattress differently.
Luxury Firm
Luxury Firm is Aviya's middle ground. The company says roughly 80% of customers choose it. It is a sensible starting point for combination sleepers and shoppers who want support without moving into Aviya's extra-firm feel.
Firm
Aviya rates Firm at 8.5/10, making it a meaningful jump rather than a subtle variation. People who prefer sleeping more 'on' than 'in' a mattress, including many back and stomach sleepers, are the most natural audience.
Don't over-trust firmness numbers
There is no universal mattress firmness instrument shared by every brand. Treat Aviya's numbers as an internal comparison. Your body weight, position and prior mattress preferences matter at least as much.
If you are unsure
Use your current mattress as a reference. If you regularly wish it were softer, start by comparing Plush. If you find yourself sinking too deeply or struggling to move, move firmer. When two people share a bed, the middle option is often the most practical compromise—but personal preference still wins.
