Comfort layers can still trap heat
A thick memory-foam layer can contour closely and restrict airflow near the body. Foam formulation, perforation, cover fabric and layer thickness all matter.

Words like 'cooling,' 'breathable' or 'temperature-neutral' are not standardized laboratory grades. Prefer independent measurements when available and treat manufacturer statements as design claims.

Sheets, mattress protectors, blankets, room temperature and sleepwear can affect thermal comfort enough to overwhelm small mattress differences.
